Personnel
Robert (Rob) Kokonis,
Co-founder, Partner and President, JFM
Rob holds 35 years of corporate and consulting experience in the global aviation and travel sectors. As President & Managing Director, he leads Toronto-based AirTrav Inc., an advisory which engages clients at senior executive and board levels. Previously he worked for three airlines – Air Canada, Royal Jordanian, and Finnair.
Rob developed the fuel management services at AirTrav Inc., having previously managed thelarge and complex flight operations fuel budget at Air Canada. In 2010, he helped exit an aviation fuel intelligence company to GE Aviation, where it became GE’s Fuel & Carbon Solutions division.
Since then, Rob has led complex fuel management projects around the world, including fuel supplier negotiations, into-plane analytics, airport consortium negotiations, hedging and risk management reviews, supply chain optimizations, and fuel tax recovery, long-range fuel supply/demand/storage forecasts, fuel surcharge analytics, and fuel efficiency efforts across the aviation, maritime, mining, pipeline, and roadhaul sectors.
His aviation work has touched on airlines, airports, governments, defence, investment houses, law firms, regulators, trade associations, and other parties.
Andrew (“Andy”) Grant,
Co-founder and partner, JFM
Andy holds 40 years of senior experience in fuel infrastructure and fuel management services. As Managing Director, he leads Palm Springs, CA based Jet-A, Inc., providing administrative and technical services to organizations engaged in the aviation fuel supply chain worldwide such as airlines, airports, fuel consortiums and others.
During his career Andy managed 17 of the busiest, most complex fuel farms in North America. Under his leadership, Jet-A, Inc. has provided technical services, solutions and products to organizations engaged in the aviation fuel industry. Jet-A’s portfolio of products include Fuel Operations Consulting, Airport Fuel System Master Planning (including fuel farms, hydrant systems, and truck receipt/dispensing racks), Hydrant System Leak Detection Solutions, and Cloud-based Fuel Equipment Inspection Software.
Those services include conceptual design efficiency, oversight and master planning; aviation fuel storage requirements and demand studies; into-plane refueling equipment and facilities; hydrant and pipeline delivery systems, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, mechanical and quality troubleshooting, and more.
Andy previously served in an Executive Leadership role with North America’s second largest fuel service company. He also served on governmental regulatory and aviation industry task forces that developed procedures shaping safety and operations policy that are employed worldwide.
At an airport level, Andy managed and provided oversight and guidance at major aviation fuel storage facilities (M&O) and airline hub fueling operations throughout North America, serving hundreds of worldwide entities. Specific experiences encompassed aircraft refueling and fuel system M&O operations at ATL, BOS, BUR, BWI, CLT, DTW, GUM, HNL, HOU, LAX, LCK, LGA, MDW, MIA, MKE, MSP, ONT, ORD, PHX, RSW, SFO, SLC, and YVR.
He has developed and implemented conceptual design, processes and procedures for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of large, complex Aviation Fuel Storage Facilities and Systems globally.
